Basically don’t let our disagreement with Leftist’s politics cloud our judgement over a great car. While MOST electric cars remain shit and we should continue to call them shit. I feel that Tesla Motors is the exception to the rule
A battery may discharge fast given the opportunity, but it’s capacitors that will dump all the power in a very bright flash.
The technology (including the supporting infrastructure) is what it is. It is advancing, but it is not mature.
People “bash the technology” (in your words) because it hasn’t yet reached the level at which the EV can function fully as a practical replacement for the gas powered vehicle, even though it’s advocates insist that it has.
The people you say are “bashing the technology” are nothing more than people who aren’t willing to allow the limitations of this technology to add significant cost or inconvenience to their daily activities.
In other words, for most people, the cost/benefit tradeoff hasn’t yet tipped in favor of the EV. People recognize that and express it within the context of their own situations.
Hence you see comments like “I can refuel my Whoopie GT in 5 minutes, why should I wait hours to recharge an ElectroZot 5000?”
Because you don’t understand what people are saying and why, you only see it as “bashing”.

1. I have never seen an advocate say that the EV is a practical replacement for ALL gas cars.
2. The EV IS a practical replacement for a set of gas cars.
“The people you say are bashing the technology are nothing more than people who arent willing to allow the limitations of this technology to add significant cost or inconvenience to their daily activities.”
1. But these same people praise a $300,000 2-seater sports car?
“In other words, for most people, the cost/benefit tradeoff hasnt yet tipped in favor of the EV. People recognize that and express it within the context of their own situations.”
1. See the above.
“Hence you see comments like I can refuel my Whoopie GT in 5 minutes, why should I wait hours to recharge an ElectroZot 5000?
1. Sounds like the dude is emotionally invested in this issue.
“Because you dont understand what people are saying and why, you only see it as bashing.”
1. I understand.
“Right now, and electric car is best suited as a secondary vehicle for those occasions when it’s limitations aren’t critical.”
If one only drives on long-distance road trips once a year, wouldn’t the EV be a better choice as the PRIMARY car?
Supercars are now going hybrid, not all electric. They kick Tesla butt.
[hmmm. Care to back that up with numbers?]

“2015 Porsche 918 Spyder”
At a million dollars a copy it certainly trumps the Tesla!
It is NOT a sedan as the Tesla is.
Where do you think the technology for sedans come from?
Advanced hybrids get the energy density of gasoline with all the added bonuses that come from all electric.

Since the Porsche is very new, I guess it got its technology from the Prius?
Nope. The Porshe technology comes from formula one and other racers who have gone big into various recuperative braking and flyswheel technologies.

Formula One started in 2014. The Prius came out in 1997 ...
