I had to have a 4 tooth bridge couple of months ago. The cost was $3200. My insurance paid $2000, and the dentist wrote off $500, so out of pocket $700 for me. But without insurance, I don’t know how middle class person can afford it.

I had to have a filling g replaced which turned into a crown. Out of pocket was $800 WITH my insurance. And I’ve got a good job for the past (almost) 10 years.

My family eats lots of crock pot stuff to stretch for lunch for the next day (3 adults 3 kids, my dad lives with us).

My wife recently quit her job.

My truck has 16 payments left, or so.

My wife’s is just 1 year into payments.

We’re cutting back on everything.

Heck she went from Bud Light to Keystone light to NATURAL light because Natty light is $2 cheaper a 30 pack. (Ive quit drinking.. just can afford it, nor do I need it).

Haven’t been to an eye doctor in 7 years, so I know my prescription is out of date... probably need bifocal and can’t afford them.

Life is a race, and I’mma keep running it, but boy, uphill in a windstorm is not what I had in mind.

At least retirement won’t be too bad... I’m mid 40s with over 100k in there and putting 10% or so away each payday. Really only savings I’ve got.
