I used to be able to shave the night before. Back when everything was blonde. Then everything turned gray. Gray shows up a lot more than blonde, sigh.

I solved my shaving problem by growing a close cropped beard. Grey and red, kinda cool looking.

I grew up with the old hymns.

In my teens and 20's I "needed" the cooler, more modern and upbeat songs.

Today, I loath most of the contemporary stuff and rejoice with the old hymns.

The old hymns have a depth to them.

The newer stuff seems to be the same phrase repeated, ad nauseam.

I was full bearded from '68 - '81 when I got saved

I looked in awe for about a week at the face I hadn't seen in over 10 years

NOW ... when we have our men's fun day at church ... Grow A Beard Sunday ... I can't wait to get the itchy thing off

Probably won't participate this year

I usually grow mine in the fall/winter months, when jobs allow it.

This one started in November and got a slight trim 2 weeks ago.

I had a few comments that I looked like Grizzly Adams.

Maybe the next week or 2 I'll give it a complete grooming and look more dashing.

I just left Youtube where I listened to half a dozen versions of "The Palms" which I am sure we will not hear in church today.

I've actually considered being "very late" for service, coming in during the last of the 45 minute Tomlin/Smith etc. songs so I can hear the message live.

I've felt like walking out and then coming back in later, a time or two (or 3 or 4 or 5...)

Of course, in a church of 250, it would be very noticeable.

Generally speaking, I don't mind stepping on a few toes or entire feet. But we are called to live at peace with each other, so I'll just mind my P's and Q's (and any other letters)
