New Orleans police are investigating the death of a man who was found Thursday morning with his neck lodged between the top portion of a wrought iron fence outside a Mid-City shopping plaza.
Police, firefighters and paramedics all responded shortly after 7 a.m. after receiving a report of the person's body found on the short iron fence that separates the plaza's parking lot from the sidewalks along Carrollton and Tulane avenues.

maybe he was trying to fit through...
Idiot reporting.
First para it says “a man” and later in the 3rd para it says gender of the victim wasn’t immediately available.
Geeeez.
Probably hung there by hoodlums.
Here is the fence from google street view:

Here in New Orleans, you want to lodge at the Ritz Carrolton or the Roosevelt Hotel.
Sure, they are a bit more pricey than lodging in your average Mid City fence, but much more comfortable.

Dreadful. RIP.
Thanks for posting link. I had no idea the fence was that short. It is very hard to see how he could've ended up there by accident... I suppose if you fell hard enough, one of those iron pickets could go through your neck and kill you, but that seems sooo unlikely.
Far too many of these stories are written by clowns who just do not have composition skills:
...neck lodged between the top portion of a wrought iron fence..
(((
Between the “top portion” and what else, nitwit?
I guess it is silly of me to expect the person who wrote this drivel to know that the preposition “between” needs two nouns or two noun phrases to complete the thought. How silly of me to think that yokels like this even know of the term “preposition”.
It happens
How does one lodge something "between" one thing?

Hold my beer and watch this!
LOL!
That’s what I was thinking.
Somebody stole the motorcycle he was riding?
