Late to the party again! I’m pretty excited this week, too. After reading all about how hard it is to grow hops from seed, and spending the last 3 months with a bunch of seeds in the fridge, I’m happy to report that cold stratification worked! I’ve got 8 new hops plants! Tobacco is also going strong, along with numerous varieties of tomato.
Please keep tools used with tomatoes different from the tools used for tobacco, or sterilize.
See disease known as 'tobacco mosiac virus'(TMV) for identification. Affects only tomatoes .
Since I have been a smoker , I wash tools and hands in diary milk which suppposedly renders the virus inert ( according to organic grower sources, ole-timey treatment).
I have used the milk bath on the hands in the past; better safe, than sorry !
