Dozens of Nigerian women who were forced to marry Boko Haram fighters were reportedly slaughtered by their 'husbands' before a battle with troops in the northeast town of Bama. Witnesses said the Islamist militants feared they would be killed by advancing soldiers or separated from their wives when they fled the town. They killed the women to prevent them from subsequently marrying soldiers or other so-called non-believers, they said. Sharifatu Bakura, 39, said: 'The terrorists said they will not allow their wives to be married to infidels.'

More likely they were killed to 1) send a message to Nigerian men and 2) dead women can’t identify their captors and rapists.
In the world I grew up , a few teams of Green Berets would be out executing their mission statement on Boko Haram with extreme prejudice. Problem solved fast and efficiently.
That world no longer exists. Instead we get Michelle Obama hash tag diplomacy of #BringBackOurGirls. Well, Michelle, Boko Harem has finally sent back “your” girls - in body bags.

Actually, our Revolutionary Army was a small minority of the folks that lived in the Colonies. There were a lot of sympathizers of the Crown, and a great portion of the population were mugwumps (the ones I’d call wimps), just sitting out the war.
Whatever the twisted excuse, the women were a security risk for the Boko Haram bunch. They probably overheard plenty, and once the terrorists realized they may lose possession and control, they killed them.
Yeah, guess there’s always the mugwumps. The folks in the trenches, assuming there are any, may help determine the outcome. Unfortunately a heck of a lot of people sympathize with today’s “Crown”, the Kenyan.
