That Mexican and I agree on, basically NOTHING, in the political or social sense. A couple of the chapters are about sufficient to make a Conservative puke, but I'd still take a bullet for him. I did some dope back in the day, and I can relate to his alternative spiritual leanings, I got those too. It got him off the dope and made him what he is today in a big way.
His tome is actually pretty entertaining, overall. Lots of insight into his past, his family life and how he makes his music. I have enjoyed it. Like I indicated, the dude is typical Liberal celebrity material in his feelings about society. I do have major issues with his attitude about my beautiful America, but it is what it is. The man is a lib, through and through, but he seems like a good dad, and he is one of my musical heroes.
OK, what say ye FReepers? Anybody else take a dip in the pool of "The Universal Tone" and what do you think?

Great Great Music and talent. I don’t want to know any more.
I appreciate his music and it gets me recharged some days.
Santana Shaman was a great album...

He may claim to be a lib but he is pro-Communist.

When my husband was stationed on the DMZ, he sent me tapes of himself singing and playing guitar. That’s my idea of a musical hero. I like Santana, but there’s nothing heroic about being a musician.

I liked, hell loved, his music up to the age I became educated on the difference between good and evil and his political beliefs. He is either evil, or ignorant of evil. Either way, I have no use for him or his music now.

Isn’t he a known occultist? I think I once read that he attributes his success to a demon entity he regularly communicates with.

Talent is no respecter of the person who has it.
In fact, it's the other way around, if there's any respecting going on at all.

I respect the man's amazing talent and commitment to his craft. But, I find most of his music rather dull.
This is the exception. His finest work and an amazing piece of music:
