That’s immigration reform I can get behind.

In order to continue their illegal presence in our country, illegal aliens must break many laws in addition to breaking into the country.
Do not fall for the red herring of “otherwise law-abiding” illegal aliens. That is a myth and a lie.
They must have fraudulent documents.
If they are using someone else’s SS number, that’s ID theft.
They are driving without licenses and insurance.
They are voting illegally.
Collecting benefits illegally.

I think that is pretty much what the American people always had in mind when they said they wanted “immigration reform.”

Liberals/Democrats, of course, took the words “immigration reform” and twisted them to impose open borders—everything the people do not want—so that they could publically campaign on the issue without actually supporting it.

Liberal/Democrats do this kind of linguistic bait-and-switch all the time. If they ever say they support a popular idea, dig a little—chances are, they’ve stuck its name onto some tired old socialist trope, like a façade hiding the pig pens.

Doesn’t address government not doing its job for since last amnesty. Poorly thought out rant.

I disagree on some, wholeheartedly supported most. 1. Secure our borders and ports and provide verifiable metrics Good. Fences make good neighbors

2. End the anchor-baby interpretation of the 14th Amendment Not up on this much, but illegal+illegal = illegal (always), and citizen+citizen=citizen (always, but probably unforeseen exceptions). Citizen+green card=citizen with exceptions, and Citizen+illegal='a naturalized' citizen as if the infant went through the green card process.

3. Make eVerify mandatory and enforce it with large fines

Exemptions and special considerations for immigrant agricultural workers ala Ronald Reagan program of guest worker

4. Reduce legal immigration quotas and end chain migration

Reducing and eliminating H1B visas is higher priority then reducing immigration allotments. I don't know what chain migration is.

5. Deport illegals upon contact with any law enforcement agency

States just arrest and turn over to INS. I don't want any state to have deportation rights. Then INS deports them.

6. No local, state or federal government benefits of any kind Just the minimal amount of humanitarian benefits such as food, water, and I daresay palliative medical care I.E No free Cancer therapy. Temporary shelter until deported, and having basic humane Constitutional protections -- not full Constitutional rights.

7. Any health and/or other care billed back to the home country Yes.

8. Lifetime ban on path to citizenship for anyone who entered illegally

No. Poorly written laws become tools of oppression.

9. Make illegal entry a felony

How about just illegal entry is criminal misdemeanor unless it's combined with charge of another felony nature like a violent crime, then it elevates to a felony.

9. Make illegal entry a felony

And, since the judicial system seems to love mandatory sentencing, I'd add a mandatory minimum of 5 years in a federal super-max penitentiary with all costs billed back to the home country.

Ordinarily I detest the word “comprehensive” since it is always code language by the left and McCainiacs for, “All we really want is amnesty ... “ but here it is used right.

What about dual citizenship? How can you be a loyal citizen of two countries or more?

Damn, I like those nine points. I wish someone on our side would see those, believe in them, and say, “that’s my plan I will implement.”

5. Deport illegals upon contact with any law enforcement agency

That makes the US known as the place to go to commit crimes - the worse we'll do is give you a free trip home. For those caught for specific crimes we would be better off amending this to "Deport illegal aliens after appropriate investigation, prosecution, and time served."

7. Any health and/or other care billed back to the home country

Nice idea but good luck. We have trouble getting China and some other countries to even take back their illegal aliens.

8. Lifetime ban on path to citizenship for anyone who entered illegally

What about those who entered legally (on one of a variety of non-immigrant visas) with the intent to stay and/or work in violation of the terms of their visa? They shouldn't get a free pass or a chance at citizenship either.
