Chinese slaves with anti-suicide nets below the windows? That is a false representation.
- First, the suicide rate at the FoxConn plants in China were 25% of the suicide rates of the same age groups in the Chinese Population in general.
- Second, the suicide rate at the FoxConn plants in China were HALF that of the same age group of American University students at Ivy League Colleges.
- Third, the number of people who attempted suicide at all of FoxConn's plants in the 18 month period in question was 27, with 18 being successful. There were over 600,000 people working for FoxConn during those 18 months. The number of suicides attempts in any American City of 600,000 people average over 100. . . and ~75 will be successful.
- Fourth, the suicides that did occur happened at a plant that was manufacturing Sony Playstations, Microsoft X-Boxes, Nokia phones, and HP Computers. . . and not one Apple product.
- Fifth, when job opportunities at any of the Apple product assembly lines are announced, people line up by the thousands to apply for those jobs. Slaves don't eagerly apply for their chains.
- Sixth, workers on Apple's assembly lines are paid a starting wage seven times the average minimum wage in China and THREE times the average wage of workers on assembly lines for other manufacturers' products. Slaves are not paid better wages than other workers.
- Seventh, Apple has lead the effort to improve working conditions for Chinese factory workers.
You just repeat false reports you read from propaganda mills. . .

Just ignore the nets then?

Nice comeback on that one.
I find it amazing that some conservatives will employ the same tactics that we criticize the Left for.
For example, Tina Fey of Saturday Night Live does a skit impersonating Sarah Palin with the catchphrase "I can see Russia from my house." Suddenly all the Palin-hating liberals start acting like it was actually Sarah Palin who said those words, in an effort to make Palin seem stupid and out of touch..."Imagine, Sarah Palin is so naive that she believes she can see Russia from her house even though it's over 500 miles away."
So when a Freeper reports an utter absurdity as fact in order to make his or her point, that Freeper is no better than those liberals running around repeating absurdities about Sarah Palin.
