Darren Stevens> Dick York...Dick Sargent....Seargent York, hmmmmmmm
>I had killed over twenty before the German major said he would make them give up. I covered him with my automatic and told him if he didnt make them stop firing I would take off his head next. And he knew I meant it.
AHA! Threatening to shoot a prisoner is TORTURE, another violation of the future Geneva Convention!

Sgt. York would be COURT MARTIALED today! And that’s not sarcasm.
For later
The American fighting man at his best.
This is a little off topic of Sgt. York, but did anyone happen to catch the series on NetFlix about WWI? It was in 8 parts. It was wonderfully done, IMHO. I enjoyed it so much. It combines re-enactments with amazing real footage plus narration explaining about the larger picture of the war and voice actors reading from real people’s diaries:
Here are Parts I and II if anyone is interested...these are all that I could find on the internet, unfortunately. I wish I could get the whole series on DVD, but I don’t think you can purchase it in the United States (yet?).

Big ‘ol bookmark of a great American hero!
Just like a flock of turkeys...
Wow cubed.
“So theres York, running out of bullets, exposed with about 100 German solders above him firing down at him and now a group of Germans breaks free and runs at him with their bayonets from a range of about 25 yards. So does he run for cover? Nope, instead he pulls out his pistol *puts on sunglasses* and kills all of the German soldiers descending on him. Not only this, but he systematically picks off the back ones first so the front ones will keep running at him, thinking they have support behind them.”
Sgt York ping
And neither WW1 Germans nor the Iraqis were ww2 Japs.
And since he did not promote diversity, then no promo for him, if the below was in place:
(Daily Caller) - Secretary of the Air Force Deborah James has decided to celebrate Womens History Month by announcing a set of nine initiatives to increase diversity and inclusiveness in the service. The most notable is a new requirement that unless those aspiring to leadership roles can demonstrate their commitment to diversity and inclusion, they will not be considered for promotion. - See more at: http://www.teaparty.org/air-force-sec-promotion-unless-commitment-diversity-demonstrated-87594/#sthash.zXGyruWk.dpuf
No doubt. Praise God.
Great history.
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. (Daniel 11:32)
Indeed, but even in affliction God is our preserver. Ask Job.
So it seems, sadly.
Amazing (grace). His men affirmed it. And they had the prisoners.
The United States Air Force has enjoyed complete domination of the skies since some time in the 1950 - 1951 timeframe. This woman’s legacy will be to bring that period of dominance to an end, whatever it takes. She must be proud.
Am I bad for finding this bit mildly funny?
Another amazing story:
