Hmmm...I wonder what is Disney's goal about how many Star Wars related films they want to release a year. I notice a lot of freepers are big fans of Haley Atwell and Felicity Jones. I claim first dibs. Why? Because I took a liking of them way before they started to appear in films when they were in British produced period pieces. For example, I saw Atwell in a rather poor production of Jane Austen's "Mansfeld Park" and Miss Jones in a production of Austen's "Northanger Abbey". So go away you johnny come lately.

Meh.
I’m old enough to have seen the first one in the theater.

So. Enquiring minds wants to know. Will the latest Star Wars extravaganza, including the introduction of a new ‘gay’ character, expand on the “Dark Force in his/her Pants?” :0)

I saw the first one 28 times in the theater. I’d never seen anything like it.

I saw it in theater too. It was transformation, really.
It’s a shame that technology supplanted plot, acting and kitch afterwards.

December 18, 2015 release. I’m so excited that I might go to the theater to see it, sometime... Maybe in January. Compare that to taking off work to see SW I: trade policy in spaaaaaaace.

The initial goal is another trilogy released every other year with standalones in-between, so 6 more movies starting with Ep 7 this year.

I tell the kids today that if they want to see WHY Star Wars was such a transforming movie, first go and watch several episodes of the TV series “Buck Rogers”. Then watch Star Wars and you will see the difference.

2001, a Space Odyssey was the closest thing to it "effects reality wise". But no where near as exciting. And before that, Star Trek, TOS. No comparison.

Me too. It was almost a “life changing” experience. That giant ship coming out of the screen . . . only to see that it was miniscule compared to the Imperial Cruiser after it? Wow.

Exactly, and as I said above, that first scene with the massive spaceship coming out . . . only to be followed by the colossal Imperial Cruiser was breathtaking at the time.

I remember I was consciously aware of what I was learning from that scene regarding creating drama with images. I’ve used it to this day in my photography.
and you are right. It’s big. It’s HUGE. And then it’s DWARFED!
