A group of middle school basketball players walked off the court in the middle of a game when they heard bullying coming from the stands directed at cheerleader, Desiree Andrews, who has Down syndrome.
One of the kids stepped up and said, Dont mess with her, Brandon Morris, who was the boys seventh-grade coach at Lincoln Middle School in Wisconsin, told Kenosha News.
Eighth-graders Chase Vasquez, Miles Rodriguez and Scooter Terrien stormed off the court to confront the bully, who was giving Andrews a hard time.
We were mad; we didnt like that, Rodriguez told the paper. We asked our sports director to talk to the people and tell them not to make fun of her.
In a video on TMJ4 news in Wisconsin, Andrews called the gesture sweet, kind, awesome, amazing.

This is beautiful, but what parent allows their middle school child to watch Glee??
What parents allows their kids to watch TV period?
Fox Snooze. Unreal, this is a piece to program the niceness of the Mexican surname, Wisconsin? Watch for a new wave of illegals.
Good on the girl.
Wake up America!
My thoughts.
I guess the news should Stalinistically remove any positive news story that has a “Mexican surname?” I guess, also, there were no people in the U.S. that had, “Mexican surnames?”
It’s already done that is my point. I don’t go to the complex for feel good stories.
What parents don’t, these days?
BEAUTIFUL! Kids like that are our hope for the future. Including her in activities, them walking off the court to defend her... And getting the director to help, besides! Great post!

It worked on you.
fantastic story and fantastic kids. I’m sure everyone there is proud of them.
It’s nice to see that chivalry is not dead.
Did your parents have any children that exhibit normal human emotions?
A story about youngsters who stand up for a demonstrably less able peer is somehow contemptible simply because of its source?
Wow.
Yeah. Saw it 2x. Utter filth.
Guess you don't wanna see any more stories about Ted CRUZ then.
In 2002 when my son was a senior in high school I knew a family at my church whose oldest daughter was a student at the same school. Thuy was 19 years old and a spec ed student. Thuy who is not bright tried very hard in class. She was catching hell every day at school with kids knocking the books out of her hands and jumping in front of her and calling her names. Her fatheretold me about what was happening so I told my boy, who knew Thuy from Church but had paid her no attention at all at school, to greet her when they passed in the hall. He did and Thuy, who normally held her books tightly in front of her, put her head down and bulled through the hall between classes, responded. Another fellow en passant razzed Thuy and Bo told him to knock it off. From that point he defended Thuy when he saw others giving her a ration even to the point of knocking one down after school. The harassment stopped and I noticed a transformation in Thuy at church. She was no longer defensive and irritable and the the folks at church started to include her in whatever was going on. Now Thuy takes good care of her frail widowed mother and is a normal part of the community.
Parents who actually care about their kids and don’t stick them in public schools either.
Great story. You have a son you can be very proud of.
