I was 3 miles from the Epicenter of the Northridge Quake.

I honestly thought I was going to die.

If you have never experienced a huge quake — DON’T.

It isn’t even so much the shaking — it is the SOUND! It is like being inside a giant jackhammer.

Prayers for the citizens of Bogota.

Los Angeles is the most prepared place in the world fr Earthquakes. The laws have been changing on building since 1907 — and after the Northridge quake they reinforced every single overpass post in the entire county.

For that part of things, L.A. had it right.

I suspect Bogota is not so well prepared. Concrete turns to killing debris quickly.

Some of my ex-inlaws were one mile away. Their 10 yo son slept through it.

...in the top bunk!
