Two Movie Stars Made a Bet on Twitter. The Guy Who Won Just Paid Up Anyway
The Blaze ^ | 5/9/2015 | Zach Noble

It started with a bet between movie stars — and ended with both guys putting on their superhero costumes and visiting children’s hospitals.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt and “Captain America” star Chris Evans set up a friendly wager on Twitter ahead of the 2015 Super Bowl: If Evans’ favorite team, the New England Patriots, won, Pratt would visit the Christopher’s Haven cancer charity in Boston dressed as Star-Lord, and if Pratt’s Seattle Seahawks won, Evans would visit Seattle Children’s Hospital dressed as Captain America.

I know Hollywood and its "types" tend to through the ringer on FR but these two guys should be commended for using their celebrity to bring a bit of joy in what is a dismal experience for these kids and families. Bully on both of them.

Err, that’s “go through the ringer”

Yeah I don’t have any problem with this sort of thing. Taylor Swift does this sort of thing pretty much weekly.

Hopefully there will be an Avengers-Guardians of the Galaxy crossover movie.

What would have been awesome if they BOTH showed up in costume at both hospitals (in Boston only Pratt was in costume, Evans was in civilian attire) There’d have been a nerdgasm that broke the Internet ...

Avengers Infinity War Part 1 and 2.

Not sure it matters, Star Lord next to Captain America pretty much looks like a guy in street clothes next to Captain America.

These guys are active in doing this sort of thing on their own. This simply gave them both the opportunity to spread their work further. One thing I noticed about following their activities is that they do a good job of making the kids the center of attention.

God bless them both. Of course after Pratt put up the bible quote I am sure he’s now blacklisted in Hollywood.

Yeah, but having Rocket show up would have been slight more challenging ...

I’m guessing there were contractual issues involved with having their first joint appearance in costume this far ahead of the Infinity War movies PR campaign.

Part of why I like Taylor is that she mostly does her charitable works out of sight of the media. A lot of people have no idea how awesome Taylor really is just as a person.

I have a friend who visited Nashville in 2006 and was out walking with he dad and wearing a TS shirt and who walks up to say “Thank you for being a fan!” but TS herself! They took some pictures and off she went! She really is that sweet and I hope she stays that way.

Taylor Swift is such a great young lady. The amount of charity that woman commits to is wonderful - God bless her!

Your friend is lucky. TS could have asked Dad out on a date ... then written a song about him.

(Sorry. Could. Not. Resist. Temptation. To. Say. That.)

If it were Michael Moore you would get a pic of him stealing fries out of a kid’s happy meal while railing on about the corporate slavers who run McDonalds.

I sometimes think some guys date TS just so they can be immortalized in one of her songs!

It’s weird seeing Cap with a beard.

Yeah, that’s pretty much a done deal. After “Age of Ultron”, the next 2 Avengers movies will be “Infinity War” part 1 & 2, so the Guardians will have to show up somehow in those.

But, thanks to the schwarma stinger scene in Avengers, Cap in a beard is, actually, canon.
