I looked at the home page of Crowder's blog and I don't see any ads. I didn't check the other pages. On the specific page that was linked from FR are these "Promoted Content from the Web" (aka ads):

"Anyone's Arrest Record is Viewable On-Line"
"49 Year Old Mom Looks 29 Using This Trick"
"New GNC Probiotic Melts Fat Like Butter"

Also, Ghostery indicates that there are 10 trackers on that site, including these directly connected with delivering ads to your computer and tracking your activities:
