The excuse I heard for taking down the page is that he is under age. Presumably, you have to be a certain age — 18? — to have a Facebook page. But seems to me there are plenty of Facebook pages by young kids. Maybe the pages were set up with the consent of parents or guardians, but I doubt it.

I think I still have a Facebook page out there somewhere, but I don't use it. One less Big Brother intrusion into my life.

There is a ton of kids under 13 who have them, my relatives kids have them and they are 13 and under that they use to say hi to their friends and they never had any issue. It seems FB picks and chooses who to ban.

It’s stated policy that anyone under 13 years old can’t have an account. If someone reports the person, the account can be put on hold until proof is given (like a birth certificate) that the person is over 13.

Yeah the whole age excuse is BS..I follow this young actor on facebook who played on the soap opera I used to watch, he is 11 years old..it was set up by his parents but he posts to it whenever something comes up that he wants to get out there
