You could remove Texas and still be QUITE GOOD in the USA, economically!
That ECONOMIC DEPRESSION in Texas, that I mentioned up above, would be the RESULT of anyone removing Texas from the USA. It’s the “result” and not the “cause” ... you see ... :-) ...

Good chart. Without the relative weights of each state you can’t tell the impact. For example CA growing 2% will have a much larger impact on US GDP than ND 9.7%. California GDP is $2.05T so a 2% growth rate is +$41B to GDP while ND’s $50B GDP grew and impressive 9.7% but only added $4.4B to US GDP.
Looking at the data if you completely removed the growth from Texas ($49B) then total GDP growth would have been 1.5% instead of 1.8% reported in 2013.
Ummmm ... I do believe it was YOU who brought up the Apple commercial in 1984 ... :-) ...
Texas added 0.3% to GDP in the chart referenced.
And it was YOU that gave Apple credit for IBM failing in the PC industry.

I didn’t see that on the chart, but I know what you’re talking about. You’re referencing the entire USA GDP. And yes, that’s relevant in terms of the effect of Texas “overall”.
Then you shouldn’t be asking for a “dance” in the first place ... LOL ...
One more thing ... just in general about Texas ... for some reason there are a certain number of people who give Texas an overinflated view of things. AND ... having been from Texas, I guess I can understand that, even if it’s NOT REAL! ... :-) ...
I mean ... if you’re in Texas ... even the JACKALOPES are HUGE! ... and that’s a fact! ... LOL ...
From a purely hard asset point of view, exactly what assets does Apple have? They certainly have a tremendous cash hoard but what else. Do they own any of their own manufacturing facilities or anything else for that matter?
Exxon-Mobile on the other hand has a boatload of hard assets, yet their market value is not what Apple’s is.
Apple’s worth is based upon their over valued stock and a lot of hype, in the long run I would rather own Exxon.
