The Post Office? We had Draft Board’s in the 60’s. A kid in my high school class could sign the selective service lady’s name perfectly. He ripped off a stack off blank draft cards in 61-62. We were all 21 on paper and drinking beer at 15 in Virginia Beach, VA. We had names like Thomas Dobson Boozer III, William Baer Pablowski. Poor Mrs Bovie. We paid $5 for the card and $5 for the signature in Hampton.
Very different for us born in the early 60’s.
There was no war, no draft.
Then Carter did that registration thing.
It wasn’t much.
No card, no number. And no draft.
Not sure what it was for.
