Not even two years after being rolled out by the New York baker Dominique Ansel, the cronut -- thats a doughnut made with croissant dough, for those who might have been living under a rock -- has gone mainstream.
Dunkin Donuts, the Canton-based breakfast food franchise, said Wednesday that it would make the croissant donut a permanent addition to its menu. (Cronut is a trademarked term.) Since introducing the item in November, Dunkin said it has sold 8.5 million of them, with about 3.9 million sold since mid-December, according to past news releases.

Tasty, but over-priced at $2.49, including a box.

Laslo, I agree, definitely over priced. I bought one a couple of months ago. I’m not going to spend $2.49 for a second one.

Yep, much better than Starbucks, which I find undrinkable. My husband makes the coffee around here, and he brews up a pot of DD every morning that’s really strong and good.

Pissant Donut makes the Croissant Donut permanent. Must really have a glaze on that sucker.
To: Laslo Fripp
I will never pay $2.50 for a donut at DD. Never.

Are these “moochie”-approved.
If not, there will be a federal hearing.

I won't either. DD coffee is awful IMHO. The aftertaste wants to make me puke. Many towns in MA keep the competition out and DD is basically the only option. Ughh. I like plain coffee, black, no additives, and Starbucks Pike or Veranda is my favorite and the same price as DD.

Works great to kill the after-cigar taste.

There are a couple of local places here in WMASS that have good coffee and great local donuts. DD used to be good when they made the donuts in the store. Now that they are all made at a kitchen and trucked to the store, its lost its taste.
