We will have to wait to see the historic impact of the Obama presidency in different areas.
But, given the threats of Islamic fascism, ISIS, etc. I think that Obama could well get an historic reputation along the lines of Neville Chamberlain. Depending what happens in the future, we may look back at these years in the 2010’s decade as a time when Islamofascism could have been dealt with, but was allowed to grow into a cancer.
Today, we look back at Hilter’s actions before World War II, and we say, he could have been stopped when he militarized the Rhineland, he could have been stopped before the dismemberment of Czechoslovakia, etc. before he was strong enough to invade so many European countries. I fear this may be the foreign policy legacy of Obama, that we will look back and see Islamofascism having grown very strong on his watch.
