All he did was win 7 out of 8 games and go to the playoffs. And many of his wins were hard fought at the end. I like these Tebow wasn’t any good types. God only knows how he would have matured. Sure wish Denver had him now, going into next year.
As a true lifelong Bronco fan, let me say that Elway and company made the correct decision in cutting Tebow—a decision that has proven to have been correct at Tebows every subsequent stop in the NFL.
All he did was NOT complete passes. Really, the Tebow crowd needs to get over it. 3 teams, 4 coaches, 4 training camps, he got more chances than 90% of the players who wash out. He didn’t make it.
Not much use in an NFL that's mostly scripted.
However - and this is the intangible - Tebow was a winner. I remember reading about him in the huddle. The Broncos were down 30-odd points, but the players said that they still thought they were going to win. Here's a bunch of jaded pros, down 30 in the 4th quarter, and they're thinking that Tebow is going to pull it out, somehow. Can you put a price on that kind of leadership?
I'm not sure how good he ever could have been, but it's sad that he never got a chance due to the media circus. I think, with his integrity and work ethic, he'd be a great coach.
They came from behind because Tebow put them there.
