Ya mean the one that, if the address existed, would be in the Hudson?
I think the Tomeis should be happy that he, so far, isn't like Dustin Hoffman's "neighbors" next to his brownstone.
(FWIW, I just came across an old copy of "Too Many Cooks" that I may re-read.)
It’s “clystar”
What a shame.
Many mega rich don’t leave their kids significant estate proceeds or they end up druggies or otherwise messsed up like Lennon and Whitney’s kid.
It might be they cannot fit a backhoe in there and still be on their own property. Or a wall might be there making it impossible to get a backhoe in
ailanthus is what I call a weed tree. It is not pretty at all
I’m sure if he had moved in the neighborhood and the first thing he tried to do was remove this fixture of nature he would have had a court injunction slapped on him faster than the speed of light.
I am going to assume the fine for damaging the precious tree is 20 million.
they better be careful, Yoko Ono just might show up and start serenading them until they drop the suit or their brains liquify and pour from their ears, whichever comes first.
No, that’s an utterly beautiful street in Manhattan.
The ailanthus is the original “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” tree - tacky and quick growing. He could have easily cut it down and put up a nice tree - I can understand wanting some greenery.
It’s also known as stinkweed. It’s the tree that grows in Brooklyn.
Here in the burbs of Ft. Lauderdale we’re not nearly as cramped. But have to be careful with trees.
Had one break my water main once. Stupid little cute earth day tree from when I was young and stupid.
Trees are a damned pain. I have these gigantic evergreens - ugly as hell - with shallow roots so that every time we have a storm I expect them to collapse on the house.
What is in that thing hanging around his neck?
All we are saying, is give trees a chance!
Gotta repeat it again, from

Our house is on 1/3 of an acre. We’ve been here 17 years and finally last summer had the last tree we wanted removed taken out. The people that were here before us planted horrible trees in the weirdest places. As they got bigger they became huge problems.
We only have 2 trees left and they are both smaller trees and manageable.
Our neighbor planted a ficus tree right next to the fence where our shed is. We have been trying for years to get him to trim it, take it out of something. It has now grown into the nice new fence that we paid to replace and most of the tree hangs over our side of the fence. He’s gonna be peeved but I have a guy coming to trim it and there won’t be much left since most is on our side. I hope it dies afterward.
You have to do what you have to do. If your neighbor won’t be a good neighbor, you have to move forward. I have a nice lilac that I planted about 10 years ago that is now kind of hanging over into the neighbor’s yard. Every year I ask him if he’d like me to trim it and he just shrugs and says it is no problem. I think he enjoys the spring bouquet.
Funny thing is we really like this old man and other than that darn tree is a great neighbor. That’s probably why we have put it off as long as we have but I’m done trying to keep it trimmed away from the door of our shed and it is just destroying the new fence.
