Radio host Michael Medved revealed on his website today that he was diagnosed with throat cancer last month. He writes, “I always knew that it would take something serious to keep me away from the microphone I cherish for an extended period of time. As it turns out, I am facing something serious. It’s called cancer."
Medved was diagnosed with stage three throat cancer and said that it’s actually a highly curable form of cancer.
And while he’d been able to keep his radio show going as he underwent treatment, Medved says he’s taking a leave of absence from his radio program “until my recovery is more advanced.”
He assures loyal listeners he’ll still be writing, and thanks them, his family, and his staffers for staying by his side for so long.
I don’t always agree with Medved, but he is the most skilled debater on radio. His ability to pull facts and sources from memory is nothing short of amazing.
Prayers for him and his family.
That’s about as bad a diagnosis a Talk Radio Show host can get!

Agreed. He’s a little too establishment for my taste but there’s no doubt about his intelligence and he can mix it up with any liberal pundit. Plus, I’ve always been awed by his encyclopedic knowledge about movies. Get well soon Michael!
Prayers up for Mr Medved. I have called in to his program in the past and he is respectful to his callers. He is a little more Liberal than I prefer, but I always enjoy listening to him. Will there be a temporary replacement host?
I doubt any lib radio station (if there are any left) would have a “Disagreement Day” like Medved had. He was an excellent debater even if I disagreed with him a lot.
Best wishes for a full recovery to Mr. Medved. I’ve enjoyed his writing.
Another article said there will be different replacements while he heals.
He used to sub a lot for Rush.
Medved is a converted liberal, and apparently he never got it all the way out of his system. He’s a Romneybot to boot.
But he’s a good guy none the less, and he deserves our support and prayers.
Though he can be somewhat moderate in his belief systems at one time he was very liberal and overcame that.

Michael is also a very gracious host. He takes many calls from both liberals and conservatives who disagree with him and he’s always respectful to them in debate. There are a number of talk show hosts, who I’m in agreement with more than Michael, who are quite thin-skinned and can’t take criticism. They could learn from the way Michael Medved conducts himself on the air.
i first came across Michael Medved when in was in junior high school in the mid 70s... one of my older sisters had his book, "Whatever Happened to the Class of '65?" and so i read it... i was intrigued by the title because i was born in '65...
true... and considering he was raised in the Los Angeles/Hollywood area, is in the movie business and is Jewish and went to college during the Vietnam War era, it is pretty miraculous he is not a liberal...

And he was a classmate of Bill and Hillary at Yale.
I guess Jeb Bush will have to find someone else to carry his water. He didn’t do all that well in his choices of who to support, shilling for McCain and then Romney in the past two Primary seasons. Maybe this time he’ll have to keep quiet and not help dump another LOSER on us for 2016.
In his autobiography “Right Turns”, he wrote that one of the first events that began his shift to the Right happened during his college years. At some point (over winter break I think) he decided to get home from his east coast college by hitchhiking his way across the country. Having grown up in an ultra-liberal, urban, culturally-cloistered environment, and having been taught to regard Middle Americans as yokels, he was completely blown away by the kind and generous treatment he received from people in Flyover Country.
I like Medved. I especially enjoy his retelling of the American revolution. I pray for a speedy and comfortable treatment.
It takes a while, but over time one comes to see just how sleazy and dishonest Medved is, he also plays loose with the facts, and that “disagreement” hour is highly manipulative, making it self serving for him.
Medved really knows how to use the power of picking who he argues with, and using the mute and disconnect button, to win all arguments, his favorite method is to simply change the subject and get away from what your actual point was.
Medved’s problem is that he is a liberal with social conservative positions, and that he will do anything to “win” as he debates, rather than discusses. Winning the conversation is everything to Medved, and he will use whatever host tricks he can, to do so.
The draft dodging Medved was originally a propagandist for the left, and he is still a very skilled, manipulator for propaganda, and man does he despise conservatives and the tea party. His show is almost the “hour of hate”, against conservatives and Palin and Cruz.
