WESTCHESTER COUNTY (WABC) -- Eyewitness News has learned that two planes nearly collided in mid-air over Westchester County over the weekend, and now, two passengers are speaking out about the scare.
It's an Investigators' exclusive.
JetBlue Flight 94 had begun its descent to Westchester County Airport Sunday afternoon when its collision-warning system alerted inside the cockpit. An unidentified plane flying in busy commercial airspace was closing in on them.
Shortly after, the controller told them to change course. At some point, that unidentified plane got close, much too close, to the passenger-filled JetBlue plane.
"I'm looking out the window, and then this white airplane is now coming at our airplane," passenger Megan Sikorski said. "I turned and buried myself in my mom's lap and grabbed the guy next to her. And our plane went up, and you could hear the woosh of the other airplane underneath us."

On what planet would such a ludicrous characterization make any sense?
Another dry run?
Which nation did this happen in?
New York State, Westchester County airport.
The “W” in WABC indicates that it is located somewhere east of the Mississippi. ;)
I know, I was just poking fun that’s all the clue I had to go on.
Reporter incompetence alert: there is no such thing as “ commercial airspace”.
I have operated out of Chicago’s Midway, and once departure sent me off on a heading and altitude that took me right into one of the arrival gates (a fix in the sky) for ORD. Happily I saw the oncoming conga line of heavy iron in plenty of time to divert, but I was not happy with what could have happened.
Upon further research, it turns out that it is very difficult to find the current arrival routing that is used based on local ATC custom. These are not published in places that pilots can get their hands on reliably. Sure there are terminal and sectional charts, SID, STAR, etc. But other routings? Maybe things have changed.
For example, when the wind is out of the west and STL is using 30L & 30R, where is the arrival gate in far western Illinois? I know where it is by experience, but I have yet to find it on a published (official) map.
Exact same thing happened to me and my wife in a flight to California a few years back, except I was the ONE in the window seat in our approach to Ft.Worth airport, small aircraft heading right to my window when he turned and dove,I was listening on the channel where you can listen to the pilots when this happened before they abruptly turned it off the pilot called the tower small plane maneuvering in our final, then turned off the radio

Based on the above highlighted and emphasized quotes, it appears the rogue unidentified aircraft was aiming to collide with Jet Blue Flight 93 on Sunday. Flight 93 could not make visual contact with the rogue plane which was perpendicular 93's flight path. The rogue plane however must have had flight 93 in its visual space and must have changed direction to continue its threatened collision after flight 93 changed direction in direct response to the control towers direction. The midair collision was averted only due to 93's pilots last minute "Hail Mary" maneuver.
The way this article was written implies the Jet Blue pilots made two maneuvers to avoid collision with the rogue aircraft. This interpretation suggests a possible dry run.
God bless these two pilots !
If such a collision occurs it is unlikely that passengers or crew will survive to tell the tale. Unless the terrorists claim credit we probably will not know that it was deliberate.
If it is discovered to have been an act of terrorism, through Muslim boasts or evidence found, every mosque in the U.S. should be laid waste.
