Mathew 18 1 AT that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying: Who thinkest thou is the greater in the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus calling unto him a little child, set him in the midst of them,
3 And said: Amen I say to you, unless you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, he is the greater in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And he that shall receive one such little child in my name, receiveth me.
6 But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea.
Although it was country there were houses for farm workers scattered around and after sitting there for about 45 minutes or an hour to let the car cool off here came four little children from about three or four years old up to 9 years old with a quart of cold water.
They walked a quarter of a mile or so and had no thought for their own safety but only for us, we could not understand them very well as they were just learning English but we knew that their mother had sent them.
With out anything being said we understood that the children had excepted what their mother had told them just as their mother had excepted what Jesus had told her.
Their father was working but it is so obvious that even though these people most likely did not even have a Church to go to they knew with out any doubt what Jesus expected of them.
I can look back and see the face of Jesus on these precious little kids, wished I could have saw their mother and dad as I think it would have been there also.
This is exactly what Jesus tells us to do in Mathew 25 and is what we will be judged on.
I saw the true Church of God.
I’ve been to several ‘Church of God’ denominated churches, and about half of them were a bunch of nuts. They would get all riled up and do these weird dances and speak some sort of unintelligible nonsense, claiming that God was “speaking through them”. I was a kid at the time, got scared, and ran out.
I’ll say, that’s pretty impressive, given how they apparently weren’t on drugs or anything. Wish I could do that!
The tares among the wheat.
Ill say, thats pretty impressive, given how they apparently werent on drugs or anything. Wish I could do that!
However the true Church of God I was speaking of was not in a building, it was there on the road side, of people helping people the way Jesus told us to do.
The tares among the wheat.
With all due respect, you saw some kids helping you. The death of Christ is so far beyond this that simple acts of kindness do not come near the holiness God requires. There is no one who does good, no one is righteous, no one understands their plight, no one. These are the words of Paul and your story is sentimentally sweet, but it is not the true “Church of God”.

I guess you know the preterists and amillennialists use the passage in Matthew you cited to prove their doctrine about the kingdom, i.e., no future earthly kingdom reign after the 2nd coming, the kingdom reign of Christ in Rev. 20 is to be interpreted this side of the 2nd coming. Does this have anything to do with your use of this passage in Matthew?
Charity is not limited to Christians.
The true church of God preaches Him crucified and man redeemed by that sacrifice.

My point exactly.

I’m with you. THE Church is the Body of Christ, those that follow Christ and specifically his example. Not those that were of Paul, or of another evangelist or apostle, but the followers of Christ. Not Baptists, or Catholics or Greek Orthodox, or whatever, or any First __________, or Saint ____________’s, or _____________ Fellowship...

Does this have anything to do with your use of this passage in Matthew?
I believe the Kingdom of God is within us which believe and that it started on the day of Pentecost.
I believe Christ will draw believers to himself at the last day.
The only earthly kingdom I can see is the one over the last thousand years or so and I take my own idea on this lightly because I don`t know.

Then you should find out, since the way you describe the kingdom - and the thousand years of Rev. 20 - is exactly the way amillennialists interpret it. Sounds like you are an amillennialist and not aware that is what you are.
Here's something else. Your use of this passage in Matthew is the way the liberal left amills use it, they use it to support their "social" gospel. The liberal left's social gospel, and the true gospel, are two very different things.
Holy Crap! The man relayed a beautiful act of kindess that some children learned from their parent and it effected this man to this day....an act of love. Jesus is love, unlike some of the sour puss extremists here. Praised Be Jesus Christ, now and forever. By the way, you’re all saved but by the love and mercy of Jesus Christ through His one holy catholic and apostolic church.

No, that is not true, i do not use it the same way the liberals do and the liberals do not use it as Jesus said it.
The liberals twist it around and use it to promote socialism
they are not talking about helping your neighbor they are talking about stealing.
Mathew 20
15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
Jesus was talking about a man who was kind to the later hires because he knew they needed it.
Jesus made it very plain here that it had nothing to do with socialism.
It may be surprising how often a little act of kindness can lead people to God.
There is no comparison between the teaching of Jesus and liberalism.
Jesus taught the true gospel.
