A sports bar is a great place to watch the big game. But if youre buying a TV for your Super Bowl party at home, Consumer Reports has complete buying advice. Its testers say a screen thats at least 50 inches or larger is a good size for a crowd.
Testers in Consumer Reports labs size up hundreds of TVs every year. Also important is a set that delivers a wide viewing angle. When youre watching a big game with a crowd of friends, not everyone is going to get that great seat front and center. One of the concerns with some LCD and LED TVs is that the picture can start to look washed out when you view it from an angle.
Another considerationhow well the TV can handle fast action. Sports is one of the types of content that can really stress a TVs ability to present fast-moving scenes without the image blurring. So Consumer Reports tests for that.

AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!
Is it possible for both teams to loose. Hate both of them!
Well, when my set croaks, you can say “I told you so.” :)
Not sure how you haven’t been pinged already.
My Brother’s Sammy made the “click of death” last night when attempting to power it on.
It didn’t handle dark colors like black very well either.
My 5 year old Vizio 42”, 120MHz is still going strong. They use LG panels and the pic and colors look great.
I have a 46 inch Samsung. It rocks for football.
I replaced it with a 70 inch Vizio and it works great as a monitor. less than $1,400.00 at Costco. Considering I paid $400.00 for an 80 column 12 inch monitor 30 years ago, it was a very good buy. My TV is never off so it gets more abuse than most.
...Im still using a 19 TV from 1983. Fortunately, I dont watch the Super Bowl....
Did you also walk uphill to school, both ways?
Only in the snow.
Thinking seriously about boycotting the game. So disgusted with the NFL and their non-serious seriousness. Might be a good night to take the wife out to dinner and a movie.
Theaters probably won’t be too busy. I may go see American Sniper.
Barefoot
I, on the other hand, have bought a dozen Samsung monitors and two big-screen TV’s over the last ten years and they have worked absolutely flawlessly...Samsung makes GREAT products!
My smartphone’s an iPhone, though!
