You would think that this is the first snow fall NYC has ever seen. The hysteria and hype is ridiculous.

I have a few inches so far. There better be two feet tomorrow morning.

Why not just tell Andrew Cuomo and the legislators in Albany to face south and start talking. All that hot air will turn the snow to rain. Problem solved.

Wanna bet that this storm will not be half as severe as hyped by the media? I didn’t think so.

I hope DC, north to NYC, and all of New England gets 500 feet of Snow, and the temperature drops to -50 below zero for several years.

It’s going to snow. It happens. I can’t remember not being able to get out and about within a day after a storm in 50+ years. The worst part of a big storm is all the people buying French toast when I need to buy milk, not because of a storm, but because I am out of milk.

Today I received an email from a former colleague who works at Hanscom Air Force Base outside Boston. He reminded me that when we were both stationed at Griffiss Air Force Base outside Rome, New York in 1993, our commander called everyone together on Friday, March 17, 1993 to inform everyone in the unit that the base had been placed on the president’s Base Realignment and Closure Commission list for potential closure or realignment. After a few words about the list, he told us we were dismissed and we were to go directly home because a huge storm was headed our way.

It was sunny at 1430 (2:30 p.m. for those of you who need the translation). It started to snow heavily about 90 minutes later. By the time it stopped snowing about 30 hours later, we had 50 inches of snow on the ground. We shoveled out on Sunday and went to work on Monday as if there had been no storm.

My colleague told me they closed Hanscom around 1400 today and the base will remain closed tomorrow and maybe even on Wednesday.

I guess the self-anointed people living in the state with the “smartest” populace (The fools seem to equate average years of education with “smartness”.) seem not to have developed a plan to dig out of what in central New York or Wyoming or other states in fly-over country in the northern Great Plains would be a minor inconvenience.

I can see all the politicians requesting their states be declared disaster areas (New York and Massachusetts ARE disaster areas, but not because of the impending storm!) and then sticking their hands out for federal funds from the people in Wyoming and the states in the northern Great Plains.

Yet another reason, as if I needed more, to cut the cable wire. It is going to snow in the northeast. For this amazing, spectular wealth of information, I pay around $100/month. Color me stupid - is that racist ? Could there exist a less relevant iota of information ? Update, FNC just announced that situations may not be as dire as first predicted. It is impossible to be cynical in America today.

Just bought a snowblower this morning for the first time ever, going to be mighty upset if it doesn’t get to see some serious action tomorrow! Middlesex county NJ here, not a flake since 9:00 PM.

Still have power in Red Hampshire...in fact; outage map shows that only ONE customer has lost power in our utilities' service area. That's right...one. (Praise the L-rd.)

Snowfall? A couple of inches, at best...it is going to really have to open up for us to get anywhere near the predicted 18 to 25 inches. The wind is certainly howling, though.

Valley Forge hasn’t had a Blizzard yet, so to say, but we have had one snowfall of 3-5inches, followed by another similar snowfall two days later, then repeat....
