Faith has nothing to do with it. First of all, I know life began somehow, at some point—that’s obvious. So yes, I believe it’s true that life began. As for what happened after that: I’ve seen enough evidence of evolution (including evidence of multiple species sharing common ancestors, a somewhat more accurate phrase than yours) to have a high level of confidence in the theory.
