Romney focused on poverty in new bid

Mitt Romney stressed the need to sharply reduce poverty in America Friday night during a speech to members of the Republican National Committee.

“Under President Obama, the rich have gotten richer, income inequality has gotten worse and there are more people in poverty in American than ever before,” the former Massachusetts governor told a large crowd aboard the USS Midway Museum on San Diego Bay.

He said only Republican and conservative principles, such as focusing on education, fostering strong families and creating jobs, could solve a problem that President Lyndon Johnson first tackled 50 years ago.

“His heart was in the right place, but his policies didn’t work,” said Romney, contending Obama has failed in similar fashion to Johnson. “Their liberal policies are good for a campaign every four years, but they don’t get the job done.”

Ronald Reagan:

"The ten most dangerous words in the English language are 'Hi, I'm from the government, and I'm here to help.'"

“His heart was in the right place, but his policies didn’t work,” said Romney

He's gone from "I can do socialism better than Obama," to "I can do socialism better than Lyndon Johnson.

Let us nominate a two maybe three time loser for President. That's the ticket!

Gee.... Do you think Jim Robinson was onto something when he didn't want Romney mentioned in 2012?

that’s right... because $4Trillion on the “war on poverty” (of which the government kept $3T for itself) was not enough....

Mark 10:17-27 (NASB)

17 As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 18 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. 19 You know the commandments, ‘Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’” 20 And he said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up.” 21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But at these words [a]he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.

23 And Jesus, looking around, *said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus *answered again and *said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Reduce poverty while giving 10% to a church that builds malls instead of helps the poor. SMH

You need to get your mind right about this, it won't matter what happens, they are going to do their best to ignore Ted completely and if that doesn't work, they'll do their best to destroy him by relentlessly reporting negatively about him or slandering about him.

It does not matter in the end.

Ted, being Ted will keep motoring on, speaking the truth and sticking to his guns no matter what where conservatism is concerned.

In the end, it will be that strategy, that behavior on Ted's part that will win the day.

Reagan had to deal with the same behaviors on the part of the media and the GOP-E that Ted will have to, because they both hated him too, for the very same reasons. He won't be, figuratively speaking, be bought off, he won't compromise, he means what he says and says what he means. They cannot control him and he is not on their side.

Prepare ... The mainstream media will breathlessly report ANYTHING involving Jeb, Mitt or Chris, while ignoring Ted completely. Ted Cruz drives daggers into their ongoing narrative.

Romney has learned that you can’t win without promising Free Stuff to the Low information Voters. The only flaw in the strategy is our $18 Trillion debt that is growing out of control.

Focus on poverty usually means more handouts. He’s trying to pull an “Obama”...handouts for votes.

Harold Stassen was a Republican politician who ran for POTUS some 10 times (1940, 1944, 1948, 1952, 1964, 1968, 1980, 1984, 1988, and 1992). It appears that Mittens Romney is auditioning to be the the next Harold Stassen. The difference is that Harold Stassen was an a man of solid accomplishments in office (Governor of Minnesota three times (938, 1940, and 1942); Governor of Pennsylvania twice (1958 and 1966); United States Senate twice (1978 and 1994 in Minnesota); and Mayor of Philadelphia once (1959).

Mittens was Governor of Massachusetts for one term (2003-2007). He has no other credentials, other than his lust for the office of President of the US.

“and creating jobs,”

Hello. Neither the Republicans nor the dems are focused on American jobs.

If Romney actually supports bringing back American jobs from other countries, to American factories, I will support him strongly.

Otherwise he’s wasting all of our time.

The whole reason the GOPe and the Chamber of Commerce wanted him as the nominee in 2012 was so Obamacare as an issue was taken off the table. The Chamber wants health care costs off loaded from business on to government. If Romney had won in 2012 the GOPe would already have been celebrating the passage of a "common sense immigration bill" too.
