DURHAM, N.C. — Two days after announcing that Islamic students would be broadcasting a weekly call to prayer from the Duke Chapel bell tower, Duke University officials abandoned that plan Thursday, citing the furor the move had created.

Good move, next to remove Muslim groups from campus as they are no different than Nazis.

Duke is considered a Christian school. Why the hell are muslims even going there when they can drive down the road a piece and got UNC or NC? I’ll answer that. So they can turn it muslim.

The muslim hotshot around there is pointing out that the campus is in the shape of a cross so Christianity is not being threatened. I think he just lost the argument for himself.

Oh, and why are muslims going to BYU? People in this country best start waking up. If it’s not too late.

The North Carolina Council of Churches supported Duke’s effort.....

The “church” in this country is gone. As is the Catholic Church with the pope they selected.

Why would the ACLU be involved in this?

That is not the slightest bit surprising! It is because Islam and Mormonism are actually quite similar, and both are very different than Christianity. In the mid-1960s, when I was a teen, I read any number of editorials/articles in my mother's Ensign Magazine calling for a merger of Islam and Mormonism because they were so similar in faith (that was before Mormonism began to try to pass itself off as Christian; they traditionally saw themselves quite different from mainstream Christianity, this claim that they are just a sort of denomination of Christianity.) May I suggest, if you are LDS, before you challenge me on this, that you research this for yourselves. You will find that I am correct about this. Frankly, you do not have a very savory history.

I meant to say this claim of being a sort of denomination of Christianity is quite recent. This is not how Mormons saw themselves for the first century or so of their existence.

I’m not Mormon and don’t doubt anything you say. It’s easy to prove Mormonism is false. The Bible says when Jesus returns everyone will know. Smith said He showed up in the woods in New York. I understand they’re trying to change that part of the history.

What does “Frankly, you do not have a very savory history” mean?

Not only the baseless claims for an imaginary deity, but it SOUNDS as inspiring as a yowling alleycat with hemorrhoids!

The Smith story, at least in a version I’ve seen, began with an attempt by Smith to figure out “what Christian denomination is correct.” He prays, and then starts getting all manner of odd revelations.

If you start with a question on incorrect premises, you will leave yourself open to a misleading answer. The most important question before God is not what denomination is correct. The most important question is, how do I meet a Savior. And that is heavily dependent upon circumstance, as God generally works through circumstance.

Some Christians do worship in LDS congregations. It is not the denomination but the Savior that makes someone a Christian. LDS is also plagued with a lot of demonic activity.

If the blessing and the curse go head to head, the blessing will win. Many people will not give the blessing a chance, continuing to ask, as Smith did, what denomination is correct.

I find it is best to use one to two unique words from the title rather than the entire thing.
Title searches are a crap shoot at best it seems. Using just Duke gives the following.

I’ve done reasonably well here for 11 years so I’m not terribly upset about this. Why is this such a big deal to you?

At least Mormons won’t kill you for criticizing their religion.

Here on FR they just accuse you of Mormon-bashing.

Joseph Smith’s fawning regard for the “Alcoran” does make for interesting reading, however.
