These “boundaries” are artificial and pretty much meaningless, set in arbitrary manner and without any real logic or reasoning upon which to base them, other than to say “Mankind is bad for the planet.”
All the reasoning, such as it is, is backward from that point. What are we, some alien species that somehow was “seeded” on this world? The cycle of water vapor + carbon dioxide —> free oxygen + carbohydrates (and its reversal) has been going on ever since there was sufficient number of complex proteinaceous compounds to use energy to drive this equation. And this presence of these complex molecules has led to a hellish atmosphere indeed, with some 20% of the atmosphere polluted with the second most chemically active substance in the Universe. If this planet could survive that highly destructive element being turned loose, it can survive most anything.
Does this mean that the Earth needs more cowbell? Maybe Walken should chime in!

Pres. Reagan stopped that clock when he sent anti-nuke missiles to Europe and the USSR knew he couldn’t be bluffed into disarming the U S. Sadly, we have allowed our Leftist emperor to do that single handedly, and no one in the military or government lifted a finger.
We should be the best stewards we can be with what the good lord has given us and there are areas we can do better, but this we’re killing the planet is the epitome of human arrogance.
The researchers either know nothing or admit nothing about the massive ability of LIFE on this planet to adapt to change.
Yes, change is “disruptive” and simultaneously it is creative, disinheriting somethings and expanding opportunities for other things. When change is very active, the “balance” looks defeated, but it is only a temporary state until life, and that includes humans, adapt and continue life’s long march. Until the sun is so big and close to burn away the earth’s atmosphere, the process of change on earth will continue, and so will LIFE.
