There is no diversity

Which is ironic considering how much that word is touted these days. And all it encourages is Groupthink.

When students started whining about their “rights” it was all over.

I went to school in the 40s and the public schools were excellent-——and I had no rights. :-)

Remeber what Kindergarten means.

Why it's a German Word.

And why First Grade was First Grade.

Before the Progressive Era You didn't use to start school until you were Six or Seven (or Older!).

And in Most Religions, isn't that "Age of Accountability"? Where you truly start think outside your own head.

By that time, it's almost too late for the state.

The purpose of a university should be to make a son as unlike his father as possible. By the time a man has grown old enough to have a son in college he has specialized. The university should generalize the treatment of its undergraduates, should struggle to put them in touch with every force of life. -Woodrow Wilson 1909

I would have government run schools even though there isn’t a constitutional mandatemail for them to do so.

It has already happened. Try hiring some recent high school grads. Speaking from experience.

Let me guess, they're expecting a six-figure upper management salary to start because they got good grades and all their teachers told them they're really awesome and special with unlimited potential?

In 1965, commentator Paul Harvey wrote this essay about how he would destroy us (America) if he were the devil. Remember this was 50 years ago.
“If I were the devil, I wouldn’t be happy
until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree—Thee. So I’d set about
however necessary to take over the United States. I’d subvert the
churches first—I would begin with a campaign of whispers. With the
wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: “Do
as you please.” “Do as you please.” To the young, I would whisper, “The
Bible is a myth.” I would convince them that man created God instead of
the other way around. I would confide that what is bad is good, and what
is good is “square”. And the old, I would teach to pray. I would teach
them to pray after me, ‘Our Father, which art in Washington…’

And then I’d get organized. I’d educate
authors on how to lurid literature exciting, so that anything else would
appear dull and uninteresting. I’d threaten TV with dirtier movies and
vice versa. I’d pedal narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to
ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I’d tranquilize the rest with
pills.

If I were the devil I’d soon have
families that war with themselves, churches that war that themselves,
and nations that war with themselves; until each in its turn was
consumed. And with promises of higher ratings I’d have mesmerizing
media fanning the flame. If I were the devil I would encourage schools
to refine young intellects, and neglect to discipline emotions—just let
those run wild, until before you knew it, you’d have to have drug
sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door.

Within a decade I’d have prisons
overflowing, I’d have judges promoting pornography—soon I could evict
God from the courthouse, and then the schoolhouse, and then from the
houses of Congress. And in His own churches I would substitute
psychology for religion, and deify science. I would lure priests and
pastors into misusing boys and girls, and church money. If I were the
devil I’d make the symbols of Easter an egg and the symbol of Christmas a
bottle.
If I were the devil I’d take from those, and who have, and give to those
wanted until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. What do you
bet I could get whole states to promote gambling as the way to get rich?
I would question against extremes and hard work, and Patriotism, and
moral conduct. I would convince the young that marriage is
old-fashioned, that swinging more fun, that what you see on the TV is
the way to be. And thus I could undress you in public, and I could lure
you into bed with diseases for which there is no cure. In other words,
if I were to devil I’d keep on doing on what he’s doing. Paul Harvey,
good day.”

It’s the natural result of a single payer for education. If schools had to work by market forces rather than a state enforced monopoly they’d be much better. There would also be a lot less Obamabots who have lost the capacity to think. (But I repeat myself)

Dumbing down Americans? Ask the American Teacher's Federation and National Education Association unions. There on the frontline of organized stupidity.

Then you can go to the Mainstream Media: NYT, LAT, WaPo, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, Chicago Trib, Atlanta Urinal-Constipation, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, and the rest of the turkeys.

Take over the community colleges by declaring them “free”.

I believe the object is miscommunication, although we have communications such as we would not have believed even 60 years ago, the communications from one mind to the next is almost non existent.

The only form of communication we have today is in fads.

Kind of like the story of Babel way back in the Bible, the language was confused, I believe if we had more information on it we would find that it was confusion in the minds and hearts rather than tongues only.

Stop teaching History. HEY HEY HO HO Western Civ has got to go! Now there is more time for self esteem classes and proselytizing for same sex marriage ! But the key is to make them read books that stink, that way they will learn to hate reading and will be easier to manipulate.Anything by Alice Walker will do. Get rid of Robert Frost and replace him with Maya Angelou, that should do the trick.

I’d start by placing a marginally educated moron in the White House.

Wait a minute...

"...The younger set say the same things, wear the same clothes, and pursue the same inanities all the while festooning their bodies with ink...."

If everyone else is doing it, it is not rebellion; it is conformity.

This is lost on todays slacking young dooshes.

As a group, kids today lack any redeeming value at an ever increasing rate.
