J.K. Rowling Feuds With Rupert Murdoch After 'Jihadist Cancer' Tweet

(CNN)Media mogul Rupert Murdoch is drawing widespread criticism for saying Muslims must be held responsible for last week's terror attacks in France.

But one of his more famous detractors is getting just as much attention for challenging his logic.

The News Corp. CEO ignited controversy on Friday with a series of tweets about Islam and jihad. He started with the tweet, "Maybe most Moslems peaceful, but until they recognize and destroy their growing jihadist cancer they must be held responsible."

Author J.K. Rowling took notice and decided to apply his logic to Christianity.

"I was born Christian. If that makes Rupert Murdoch my responsibility, I'll auto-excommunicate," she said on Twitter.

Being ‘born a Christian’ doesn’t necessarily make one so. Even so, Rowlings criticism is infantile.

He attacks the ideology; she responds by attacking him.

Typical liberal.

What a stupid thing to say. First of all, no baby is “born Christian,” and second of all, if she would abandon her faith simply not to be associated with someone whose views she disagrees with, then she doesn’t hold that faith at all.

people who make a billion dollars selling their products should not piss off the segment of the population that has money

Rowling should have kept her mouth shut- it was petty and ignorant

“J.K. Rowling calls for the return of the Inquisition. Wants Christians of today to behave like they and Muslims did over 500 years ago. And though no longer a Christian herself, threatens to become even more of a non-Christian unless something.”

"I was born Christian. If that makes Rupert Murdoch my responsibility, I'll auto-excommunicate..."

I don't know which Bible Ms. Rowling has been reading, but mine says you must be re-born to be a Christian. In addition, it does say that we, as Christians, are to help bring people into the fold and take responsibility of others, and help them see the light of the Lord through our love and actions.

These "millennial Christians," which is what I like to call them, think the Word of God is suppose to conform to their lifestyles and choices. They don't believe they should change, and if the Word asks them to change, then there is something wrong with the Word - not their lifestyle or choices. I call them "millennial Christians," because that is the way the millennial generation thinks the world is suppose to work and respond to them - change for them, not the other way around.

Wondering why the left loves the jihadis so much, and hates Christians.

I wonder why Jews aren't more accepting of the one country that has sheltered them and provided freedom of religion. Granted, the current administration has not been kind to Judaism, but it hasn't been kind to Christians either.

“”I was born Christian. If that makes Rupert Murdoch my responsibility, I’ll auto-excommunicate,” she said on Twitter.”

Her theological understanding is wrong about being born Christian.

Nonetheless it is not a bad point.

Why should the Muslims have to excise the cancer?

It is our responsibility.

Interestingly, I just heard old Tom Brokaw on his little minute radio piece say the exact same thing as Murdoch. That the Muslims need to excise this cancer. He used the term cancer, just like Murdoch.

Liberals would rather be enslaved by Muslims than allow Christianity to continue.

That is how much they hate us.

Not that it matters, but Murdoch self-identified as a sorta kinda Christian:
" Asked if there is any truth to recent press describing his newfound piety, Murdoch replies: "No. They say I'm a born again Christian and a Catholic convert and so on. I'm certainly a practicing Christian, I go to church quite a bit but not every Sunday and I tend to go to Catholic church -- because my wife is Catholic, I have not formally converted...But no, I'm not intensely religious as I'm sometimes described." Interviewed in 1992. Nicholas Coleridge, Paper Tigers (1993), p. 487.

That was when he was married to a Catholic. He's long since divorced her and remarried; don't know whether he divorced his religious pretensions as well.

What a lot of people don't seem to catch, is that Christians, whatever their personal faults and failings, in fact no matter what their grave sins and crimes, are taught to strive to be imitators of Christ Who was good; whereas Muslims of whatever personal character are taught to strive to be imitators of Muhammad who was evil.

The very ideals are polar opposites.

Thus increased religious fervor will purify Christians' moral character; whereas increased religious fervor will corrupt Muslims with a greater propensity to murder, vengeance, lust, and moral violation.

So this is not just about "individuals." This is about the central orientation of lives, faith groups, cultures and civilizatins.
