Good riddance! Isn’t this the scumbag who was playing that loud music in his police car, no doubt in violation of noise ordinances?

Hope he never wears one again.

Yes, it’s the same one at the newspaper site. Thank you.

Pulled him over for no inspection tags —a dealer plate makes the car EXEMPT, officer does not know the law.

And a dealer plate is only used while a car is still unsold. How is picking on a customer going to get the dealer to fix something if it does need fixing (which it did not).

Typically the inspection is had when the customer gets the plates after buying the car.

The arrest of the now former officer would have been a much better end to this story. Put him in jail, and let the DA contemplate the charges at their leisure.

Been a lot of blow back about that - that the officer needed more training on the “laws”.

Read the second to the last comment in the story. The Texas rangers investigated this too, so there may be more to come.

Despite this guy going rogue, we have very good police and sheriff departments.

Hope he never wears one again. Agreed. His name should go on a list of bad cops, never to be allowed to wear a badge again. After all, felons are denied guns after release. Same should be applied to bad cops.

I agree 100%. The very small percentage that prove to be “bad apples” need to be removed ASAP. Their protection and continued presence on a police force serves only to sully the reputation of the entire department.

My guess, he shows up in some other city’s force. And if (probably when) he acts up there, this whole Kabuki dance will go on again.

Nope. Not in Texas.
All cars - even unsold dealer cars on the sales lot - must have inspection stickers.
