This is very true. The advent of the no-fault divorce found many middle aged women being abandoned by men like this who were simply bored with them and ready for a newer model. Like a car. The result was them living in relative poverty because they had never had careers. They weren't suffering for being feminist, they were suffering for having been feminine and playing by the rules.

The fact is, once a woman finds out what it's like to have everything they need, paid for by their own money, and without the stress of marriage, Mr. Viagra here simply does not look that appealing. No wonder his first wife got over it well enough to be friends. Nothing says "I really don't love you at all anymore" like being able to smile on the new wife's baby and be genuinely happy ... that it's her and not you. LOL!
