The media spin on this is, Harbaugh’s been a hit-and-run coach, tiring of his current jobs one after the other, but will be happier, possibly, coaching teams where the players are always cycling through in four years. I don’t like him or U of M, but frankly their football team was beginning to embarrass me as a Michigander.

Makes me glad I’m not a football fan. The Tigers give me enough stress as it is.

Except of course he didn’t get tired of his SF job, they sabotaged him. 3 trips to the NFC title game in a row and they “leak” that ownership is tired of him during the off season.

Seems unfair to me. He's been an extremely successful coach who keeps getting better job offers because he's good. At both USD and Stanford he didn't leave until he'd turned losing programs into winners, and he left them in far better shape than he found them.
Harbaugh was forced out of his most recent job with the 49ers after another spectacular turnaround of a bad team. This is in-line with the current ownerships' long and sad record of dumb hirings and firings. If I were a UM student or alumnus, I'd realize that Harbaugh is about to bring Michigan far more in revenue than he's paid and find something else to get worked up about.
