I started this thread to get the feel of freeper opinion and historical perspective.

Among the unique features of our Framers’ constitution was the confederal republic it created, a republic of republics. The nation foolishly created another popular legislative body in 1913. IMO, it is the source of our woes.

Federalist #62-66 pertains.
