It is cute, and it triggers some memories that I can’t quite pull to the surface, but they are pleasant and something that is just like this, involving kids and a loving dog.

I think people are forgetting that this is a moment captured on film, I doubt that the Palins keep the dog there in front of the kitchen sink, as a permanent step stool.

Exactly - it was a cute moment she decided to capture in a photo. Interestingly, it brought back memories of my beloved black lab. I’m thinking of how I used to run my hand along his side and marvel and his strong musculature. He was a beauty - although nuts!

We had a Yellow Lab when my children were that age. They would climb on her and then lie down and she would climb on them.

Most family dogs, particularly labs, quickly identify either Mom or Dad as the Alpha Dog and all of the children in the family as fellow puppies in her pack.
