Thank you.
Years ago, I began using this website for HTML formatting.
http://htmleditor.in/index.html
Its a website. You DON’T have to down load anything. It easily allows you to copy and paste hyperlinks and even pictures (and more) that you want to post to FR.
When done typing and copying the text you want, hit the Source button, copy and paste to the Reply area here at FR and its that easy.
No prob. It is hard enough to replicate tags in the posts without having it taken for being an actual tag!
Thanks, and Happy New Year!!!
I copied your image coding for the FR logo. It did not reproduce the logo in preview, just a little square box.
The image html code is missing the “ at the beginning of the http, and won’t form the image unless it is there, same goes for the end of the address. The </img> is not a necessity for simple images. Just add the > after the ending “ to get your image.
The 2 most used html codes are web links and photos for most of us who are not into the big coding stuff. Could you MOVE that to the top?
Bookmarked....thanks and a Happy New Year to you!
I did a few searches and didn't find it. It would be useful to tag to this page.
and it works
Yes. In post #11, Dr. Sivana pointed out to me my gtext is incorrect. I think that if you just put in a quote before the http://..... it should work.
That line is on my list for correction.
I will mention that it can be desirable to make a link to a particular reply in a particular thread, and you can get the URL you want by simply going to the reply and clicking on the number, which clearly is shown as a link. Thats simple, but any other way of trying to construct that number leads to grief, in my experience.
I use a Mac, and for many years I had no trouble making hypertext links, then about three years ago or so, I began experiencing a peculiar problem: HTML parser finds the <a href="http://www.freerepublic.com instruction just fine - but the second which is there to terminate the URL doesnt get detected. With the result that the link, and anything after it, doesnt appear in preview. For whatever reason, deleting and retyping then works, and I can proceed from there.
So its just a nuisance, but Im curious why the gets displayed but not detected by HTML.
I had a similar experience at work back in the day, when an * was required and was displayed as being there - but wasnt detected. All I did was delete and retype the *, and the program worked. Spooky.
How do you make those “classy” glassy lassie letters that shows a spectrum?
What’s the code for crossing something out? As in “There. I fixed it” posts?
example
The above was done with this code:
<font color=red>e</font><font color=blue>x</font><font color=black>a</font><font color=yellow>m</font><font color=red>p</font><font color=green>l</font><font color=red>e</font>
Hope that helps!
Here's an example.
Done with <s>example</s>
I thought her font faded from top to bottom through all of the letters (not different colors for each letter).
Been a number of years since I saw those posts, though.
No—they changed from letter to letter.
