We had to put our best friend to sleep yesterday after a loosing battle with Feline Renal Failure
Sorry to hear that.
Fortunately your cat had a good, comfortable home and was able to live safely to an old age. The poor kitties that are abandoned only live about a year at best.
Your cat was lucky to have you! It still hurts a lot though.
So many of us have felt this loss and hurt, it aches. Prayers for all. My 15 yo dachshund died over a year ago of kidney failure, I miss him every day but also know we had a wonderful life with him. You will get there.
Sorry Robe.
I have two myself, my first pets since childhood.
Once is five, one is seven.
A prayer for you in your loss.
17 years is a good run for a cat.
How did you get him/het?
You have my condolences and prayers for comfort, FRiend.
I have had to do that once. It sucks. I am very sorry for your loss. May you find peace.
I am very sorry to hear this. People who do not own a pet cannot relate usually. I have had to say goodbye to several cats over the years. It never gets easier. Know that you did all you could and gave them a happy life.
So sorry.
I am sorry about your loss. You did get 17 years of cat fun and affection. Take a breather, and you will know when the time comes to get another kitty.
Peace to you...
It never gets any easier, we love those little things too much. It is like they are part of the family.
That’s “Sleep” tears make the keyboard a bit blurry..
Buddy was raised as a dog, (we never told him differently) He came when called , ran to greet us them we returned home each day, he even played fetch with a nerf ball.
Buddy would lay on my chest in the recliner and give me little head butts until I let him lick the outside of the cocktail glass.
I will truely miss this little man (I often surmised he was related to those little creatures in Men in Black)
So I have just finished digging a hole out back and layed him to rest in a custom made (by me)casket.
Feeling very low about now, even a crusty old fighter pilot have his moments..
Here’s to seeing you at “the Bridge” Buddy.. I love you
I respectfully disagree, There are cats waiting at the shelter that need homes.
Sorry for you loss. My daughter has a 17 year old cat that is having some problems. My four grandchildren have never known life without him. It’s really going to be devastating for them.
We couldn't put him down so we made a sling and walked him until he could walk again. He isn't perfect, but he does have improvement streaks. It sure is better than the alternative.
I’m sorry for your loss. You did everything you could and provided the best things ever for a cat: friendship, food and a great home. Age 17 for a cat is proof of that!
I’ve been where you are will be there again before long with my aged cats (one just had her twentieth Christmas and an emergency vet trip for New Year’s Eve). Remember the happy and funny moments. I believe you’ll see them again someday.
Been there .. done that. It can be very heart wrenching.
Still have a couple of older cats with medical issues but they’re still hanging in there.
So sorry for your loss.
Robe, I’m so sorry.
