The Gods of sports at ESPN shall solely determine all starting times SO IT IS WRITTEN
Out of control government.
It might cut down on TV appearances, but they don’t seem to have that many, anyway.
There’s all sorts of “revenue” missed with 11 am starts:
1. Lunch not being eaten at restaurant venues, rather at tailgates or at the stadium; loss of sales tax revenue.
2. Less alcohol sales at bar establishments; loss of sales tax revenue.
3. Fans inclined to drive to the game on game day and home afterwards rather than stay overnight the night before and after; loss of lodging tax and sales tax revenue.
4. Less alcohol imbibing makes for fewer arrests for disorderly conduct, DWI, etc., and resultant fines and penalties.
5. Fans inclined to return home at the end of the game; loss of sales tax revenue for evening meals and potential shopping in local area of the game.
It’s all about the money...
Good plan! It will force the Minnesota Gophers to play in Wisconsin.
