Kaepernick/RG III and other “run-option” QBs are NFL coach killers because the owners want players who have drawing power...not so much “wins”
Run-option QBs (ROQB) can either move the NFL forward or destroy the local “franchise”.
ROQB would be drafted with the understanding that they have a !MAX! NFL career of 5 years and should be paid accordingly (reduced contract value) owing to the evidence that other players (RBs and WRs) contribute an equal amount.
ROQB may be the future of the NFL but...ROQB are short-term capital expenditures.

You are operating from a very small sample. We don't know how long RG III and Kaepernick and Russell Wilson will last. Neither Kaepernick nor Wilson have suffered a serious injury, and the "slide" rule protects QBs who run the ball. A QB is just as likely to be injured getting clobbered while standing in the pocket as he is when running the ball.
