Friends, it's Sunday night again and time to relax. Warm up the tubes for another 4 hours of classic radio Americana.
Info *tonight's show will be available at the "Info" link starting tomorrow.
Official OTR blog of "The Big Broadcast" thread:
GS time!
It’s on Ed. He always plays the same ones each year, but there are plenty more out there, not all downers.
Yeah. You rotate the wheel and it tunes in a station. I didn’t look close. Probably WGN,WOR,KDKA etc.
And not all Atlantans are kind. I am mean and rotten! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Merry Christmas.
JB Time!
HAHAHAHAHA!!! Hey, YOU! My favorite proxy moderator! :-) It’s good to see you here.
You always provide the best visual entertainment, Vision! :-)
Well I don’t know this guy and don’t know why he’s on my thread.
Here is a recipe very similar to the Pineapple Snow recipe we just heard at the end of the Jack Benny Show.
“”Pineapple Snow
1 3-ounce package orange-pineapple gelatin
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup boiling water
1 cup canned pineapple juice
1 egg white
Dissolve gelatin and salt in boiling water. Add pineapple juice and chill until very thick, then add egg white and whip until fluffy. Have your beaters cold and set the bowl of gelatin on a bowl of ice. Pile high into sherbet glasses or an 8-inch-square pan. Chill until firm.
Lemon or lime snow: Substitute lemon or lime gelatin for the orange-pineapple and substitute 3/4 cup cold water and 1/4 cup lemon juice or lime juice and 2 tablespoons sugar for the pineapple juice.””
Vision, he’s a Facebook friend of mine. He also helps me moderate toll commenters at BarbWire.com. He’s cool. He was just being silly about ATL, not intending any offense, I’m sure. Shoot, Keith could tell you all about ATL, too, since he used to be a flight attendant back when he was much younger. :-)
I happen to live in the ATL.
As an aside, I love old-time radio, but I prefer stuff from before 1947.
"Suspense," "Inner Sanctum," "Mr. District Attorney (sponsored by Sal Hepatica)," "The Whistler" are some of my faves.
Oh, PS: I’ve been posting this Big Broadcast thread on my Facebook page for a couple of weeks now, inviting people to visit us here.
Greetings.
That’s the airport. Try actually living here.
Greetings! Happy New Year, too, Houmatt! :-)
Thanks. Seems like a tropical jello (minus the egg white).
If you’d like on the ping list let me know.
Feel free to post on FB. Anything for OTR.
