All you can eat buffets are a rip off unless you weigh 300 lbs and can’t get enough to eat. The average person only wastes his/her money on them.
I used to like buffets sometimes, but then it occurred to me that having a lot of folks touching utensils was a sure-fire way to get other folks’ colds, flu, or perhaps worse.
Just call me a hypochondriac, but not everybody washes their hands in the restroom and kids will wipe snot off their nose with their hands. No health inspections for the line filing through the buffet.
We typically go to the local buffet only when we have a coupon. I'm not going in order to save money. I'm going in order to have a variety of foods which I normally don't make myself. It's not fine dining, but I can always find things I enjoy.
Actually, my husband does get his money's worth. He's 6'3" and built like a football player. When he's been out shoveling, like this afternoon, he can eat like a football player too! :-)
