“It’s the Circle.....The Circle of Life....”
Coulda happened in Canada!
It was a cultural exchange.
In 1789 William Bligh and 18 crew members face savages like this constantly when they were set adrift in a 23 foot launch after the mutineers on the Bounty took over the ship. Not only in New Guinea but in the small islands that were scattered in the area. They would go ashore to try and collect fresh water and food and the natives would try to kill them, one crew member they did kill who got his head bashed in and the savages who chase the rest of them\ for miles in skiffs in the ocean. When they got close enough they would fire off their spears and arrows.

Just finished a exceptional book about an event in Dutch New Guinea at the end of WWII. I was a month old when it happened. The book is called Lost in Shangri-la.
Near the end of World War II, a plane carrying 24 members of the United States military, including nine Womens Army Corps (WAC) members, crashed into the New Guinea jungle during a sightseeing excursion. 21 men and women were killed. The three survivors—a beautiful WAC, a young lieutenant who lost his twin brother in the crash, and a severely injured sergeant—were stranded deep in a jungle valley notorious for its cannibalistic tribes. They had no food, little water, and no way to contact their military base. The story of their survival and the stunning efforts undertaken to save them are the crux of Lost in Shangri-La.
The one that ate his penis was likely drinking Coke Cola with dinner.
It’s always been rumored he died at the hands of cannibals. My father was stationed in the Pacific during WWII and they were not allowed off post because of cannibalism.
One of the cannibals was heard saying “he’s too rich for my blood”.
He was turned into Soylent Green.
I don’t think a documentary can “confirm” anything except conventional wisdom. It’s been the accepted theory forever that they ate him, just like it’s accepted that communist guerillas killed Errol Flynn’s son.
Well they were feeling a bit peckish.
Reminds me of Michael Crichton’s last “take the piss out on the left” novel where a self-righteous lib celeb goes to hang out with the gentle natives and gets eaten.
“...was eaten by cannibals”
Say the same thing about the Republican Party, if Bush is nominated.
Do you realize that in six months Dr. Dave will be a hundred years old?
I remember reading somewhere ages ago that it was thought that his putting a price on skulls made his own a valuable commodity - except, once the cannibals ate it, there was no buyer.
I read this ages ago, so don't ask for a source, I don't have one.
Dare I say...
“The other white meat...”
I didn’t know that there were Cannibals on the south side of Chicago....
