Who is chet99?
As I recall.... Chet 99 was a longtime FReeper (account suspended a few years ago) who posted so many threads about a single topic that he became infamous for them. His attachment to that one topic developed from an interest to a fascination and eventually to something of an obsession. His particular focus (again, as I recall) was gruesome stories about maulings and killings perpetrated by dogs, primarily (maybe exclusively?) by pit bulls. Given that FR also has a number of pit bull fans, the threads sometimes got rather, ummm, energetic in their tone. Chet posted so many threads of a similar nature that some of us were convinced he must have spent all day researching the news to find them. I'm not exactly sure what Chet did that got him suspended. Maybe a Mod who was a pit bull fan got sick of the stream of postings about them.
In any case, I believe that Secret Agent Man's teasing reference was meant in a light-hearted spirit; certainly my comment about a photo of you and Chet together was meant as a jest. We acknowledge the serious nature of your threads; our comments were not intended to take anything away from that aspect.
