Yes, the “crafters” have a big market for scented candles, and their stuff is majorly overpriced. I find that the Glade and Febreeze candles suit me just fine, and the Scentsy warmers and wax is also good. You just have to find the smells you like, and you have it. Pier One also has decent scented candles, but they’re not quite as strong as those Glade and Febreeze ones.

“Island Orchard,” “Biscotti” and “Sycamore and Sandalwood” are nice ones to me. I haven’t been there lately. They sometimes discontinue scents and add new ones. They have lots of goods ones. It’s not just their candles, but they also have “home fragrance” sprays, which I like better than the candles, because they’re stronger scents than the candles. With those sprays, you can quickly “freshen” your house, say, if someone is dropping by.

I grew up with gorgeous things like that-—functional and beautiful.
Lucky you.

The first thing that happened when it landed in the living room was, the wife's cats just had to explore every inch of it. It now looks like a feline jungle perch at the local zoo. LOL I gotta get the schematics printed out. One tube won't fire and another's missing, but the phono seems to be in good shape. (The arm will need a new needle, I'm sure.) Also has a gimpy frequency channel pot, but for the price, it'll make a wonderful home project. I already have a virtual library of docs, web links, YouTube repair vids, and parts suppliers at my fingertips.

As a woman the most appealing thing for me is the cabinet——the wood is incredible.
A beautiful piece of furniture.
Your kitties have impeccable taste.:-)

I got a good wife.
We also found a trove of old LP's from the 40's (78 RPM) through the 70's and 80's at the same antiques mall she got this from. We have ceiling-to-floor bookshelves built into the living room along each side of the fireplace, and the shelves are the perfect size to build up an LP library to play on it.

Thank you! Boy, what a Christmas gift from Mrs. Claus, huh? That's two tube radios and a repro '32 Thomas cathedral tabletop in my collection so far.

My wife and I are of a single mind on it; beauty and functionality. We were both born at the tail end of the vacuum tube era; as a kid, I was weaned from that to the old first-generation transistor technology. My father was a radio broadcaster for 50 years. The sights and smells of the old transmitter tubes and equipment (albeit HUGE tubes!) in an AM radio station still lingers in my childhood memories.

Nice. Glad to see the project is coming along...
Merry Christmas!

I was born in 1932.
I guess that explains a lot——there isn’t an electronic devise in my home that can compare aethetically to your new/old Philco.
