Bill Callaham, a California lawyer, never had a chance to hand over his Rolex, cell phone or hundreds of dollars in cash. The men who attacked him from behind in the Central Business District never made any demands. They beat him unconscious, breaking his nose and his jaw. And afterward, he said, they took nothing.
"If somebody had confronted me and asked for money, I would've happily given them my money," Callaham said Friday, a week after the assault. "I don't know if it was random, I mean, I have no idea. I just think it's a sad state of society right now."

“He doesn’t remember what they looked like, other than one appeared to be in his 20s.”
Guess.
He remembers hearing one of the men mumble something, but doesn't know what it was.
Maybe they just didn't like your pants.......
In some "ahem" circles, that might be considered trolling.........
If they ever catch the thugs, I wonder if the term "gay bashing" might come up...........
LOL, I remember that one. Lousy shot IIRC.
Knockout game.
He can’t seem to get his brain around the fact that he was beaten for entertainment.
He met up with the Zombies and he is lucky to be alive.
But he does look a 'bit' like John Kerry...
Dark street, alcohol...hell...can you blame them?
I was, of course, referring to this

I wish it were Kerry...
Everybody needs a hobby.Lawyer stomping is as good as any.
EVERYBODY in the theater cheered when the lawyer got eaten.
Sounds like a viral happening that I could definitely support
Mebbe, mebbe not. One wonders if he made a gay pass at somebody, got the snot beat out of him, and made up this excuse. "Lawyer Stompers" seems a bit far out.
Wild guess: Unhappy client.
The murder rate in Houston is it’s lowest in history, (2011).
Crime in New Orleans is SO out of control, so pandemic, that if 20% of it were reported truthfully tourism would be dead overnite.( Not unlike some tourists). The lawyer in question bought into the ‘if you’re not involved in crime you are safe in New Orleans’ BS. He- like so many others- are LURED to the city for 24hr entertainment. The witless actually go to Canal St. at nite for ‘Broadway South’ at the Saenger theatre( which is right next door to the projects, btw). He should sue the city and TRASH it in the media, but he sounds more likely to recover and take the case of the perps if it gets him notoriety. ANOTHER man was beaten brutally downtown as well- the newspaper reported that he waited a long time for treatment because there were so many crime victims-gunshots,knifings-who were worse off than he was!!
The Quarter is prowled by gangs of black man knocking down and attacking like hyenas-in the middle of the street, on camera! It’s a white/wealthy/tourists center in a black hole that is the city. If businesses stay open past midnite, and trusting tourists are LURED into the hunting grounds, the Quarter will die with the tourists. If they DO close at midnite, tourism is dead and the criminals have won. Local government is sympathetic to the criminals in a 60% black city-they can’t crack down on their constituents. So it’s up to tourists to wise up. STAY OUT of New Orleans, tell your relatives and friends and co-workers to STAY OUT of New Orleans. Those morons who have moved her from other states for the ‘ambience’ are learning-fast- that they are prey as well. The much touted Marigny is a crime-ridden pest-hole with robberies and beatings every nite for those who WILL pretend they can make it an ‘arts’ district.
I don’t know why the lawyer wasn’t robbed-but that just tells you that the predators in the street attack and kill for the JOY of it. If he’s still a sympathetic, understanding liberal after this I have no pity for him.
