Anybody can, my sister her husband and my niece once vacationed there. Since they're in the Metro Detroit area, they flew out of Windsor.
Unfortunately for my niece, she was stupid enough to try and bring back a box of cigars for her then fiance and was busted at customs at the Windsor/Detroit tunnel. She of course had to pay a fine but that stupid incident has placed her on a permanent watch list with all the airlines.....LOL!
As a side note, the city of Havana where the hotels are, are off limits to Cubans from outside the city who do not work there and have proper identification. Any who venture in without proper ID are arrested.........
Since only the U.S. imposed sanctions on that communist country, it has been a popular vacation destination for Europeans and Canadians.......
But they won’t.
They will still be subject to their oppressive communist gov’t.
Even if tourism opens up there, the tourist sites will be really nice, and the rest of the island a shthole for the residents.
I don’t think it’s going to happen, though, because who are they going to continue to blame when the lifting of the embargo doesn’t raise their country out of poverty?
