Unless I’m quite confused, the bombers were not intentionally targetting children. They were attacking a building and a symbol.
Obviously they didn’t have a lot of qualms about who they might hurt in the process, but they didn’t intentionally try to hurt kids.
Yes, that is likely true, I don’t really know. But at that time, in American society you’d think they were not intending to kill any person, much less 4 school girls.
But of course you are right. Bombing and arson are both bad, you might well harm someone you didn’t intend to harm.
